Kenosha Pass is known as one of the best and most convenient destinations near Denver for fall foliage. Approximately an hour and a half drive southwest of Denver, travelers take US-285 directly to the trailhead. Kenosha Pass begins at about 10,000 feet above sea level, and expect about a 400 foot elevation gain along the trail! Although altitude can render potential issues, this truly is a hike for everyone. The terrain is completely painless and  user friendly . Hike in and out as far as you please, and enjoy the beautiful contrast of colors on aspen and pine tree covered mountains.

The iconic Maroon Bells Scenic Area likes to really show off its magical views during autumn. Located near Aspen and Snowmass, this glacial valley destination will absolutely satisfy the eyes. The famous name was acquired due to the two 14,000 foot mountain peaks resembling church bells. This destination is one of the most photographed views in Colorado. Did you know that an aspen tree grove is one of the largest, oldest single living organisms on Earth? Yes, aspen groves are connected by a single root system. The largest in the state of Colorado and one of the largest in the country, please be sure to add Kebler Pass to the top of your list of fall destinations. This is also the perfect time and opportunity to visit Crested Butte, CO.  Drive, don’t hike. Relax and enjoy a laid back 30 mph cruise through the vast, crisp yellow aspen groves.
