Denver Neighborhood Diary: Santa Fe Art District

Dear Denver Diary,

After one visit to this neighborhood, we’ll plan on seeing you back here every first Friday of every month. That’s right, we’re taking you to the Santa Fe Art District. This area of Denver is extremely culture rich with Hispanic roots and the beauty really shows through the murals, restaurants and galleries. Known as the “First Friday Art Walks,” Denver Metro residents flock to the Santa Fe Art District on the first Friday of every month to check out the abundance of art exhibitions offering free entries, open late to the public. And for those serious art collectors, they get the chance at a first look at the “Third Friday Collector’s Preview.”

The Santa Fe Art District is loaded with some very desirable commercial real estate. Indulge in a little Latin-inspirited architecture in this area, with all the classic structures coated with vibrant colors and some stunning painted murals. For an innovative entrepreneur or a talented art curator, a live/work space (mixed use property) could have the potential for great success.

Find somewhere to eat, drink or play all day in this neighborhood. Santa Fe is your go-to for authentic Mexican cuisine. Choose from El Noa Noa, El Taco De Mexico or .Santiago’s Stop by.Crazy Mountain Brewery for your cold, local beer selection. Challenge your friends at The Board Game Republic, the local board game pub. Co-owned and operated by artists, Joe Maxx Coffee Co is the perfect place to relax study, work and of course to get that caffeine fix.

Denver Neighborhood Diary: LoHi

Dear Denver Diary,

We are heading north this month for some epic Denver Skyline views! Welcome to the Denver Highlands. With an abundance of entertainment and a very hip vibe, this is the perfect neighborhood to take your visitors, clients, family and friends.. The Highlands is notorious for rooftop hangouts, local shops, art galleries, and some contemporary bar & restaurant options. This vast, urban area is divided into three major districts for exploring:  LoHi (Lower Highlands), Tennyson Street, Highlands Square.

The Lower Highlands, known as LoHi, was originally its own town called Highland. Highland was one of the earliest towns in Denver. It historically has been a diverse neighborhood, welcoming everyone regardless of ethnic background. The cultural diversity in LoHi is alive and well even today, some of the cities finest and foreign inspired restaurants in this area. Particularly, Linger, one of Denver’s finest eateries samples mixes of street food from everywhere around the globe. This site used to be the O’Linger mortuary, which later moved to Hampden Blvd, however, the top quality design and attention to detail entertain what remains of the mortuaries history. Truly a must for fine dining in Denver.

Residential speaking, most of the residents in this neighborhood of Denver are about 20 to 35 years of age. If you’re looking to live in a neighborhood with a lot of nightlife, some incredible bars and some of the city’s best fine dining… look no further. Forest Room 5 is one of the best bars in Denver. It has tepees, fire pits outdoors and the whole vibe of being in a cabin in the woods right in the heart of the city. If you want something more exclusive, check out one of the nation’s best speakeasies, Williams & Graham, it’s hidden behind a bookshelf and highlights the roaring 20’s and the prohibition era.

This truly is one of Denver’s finest areas to live in for a well-to-do bachelor, bachelorette, or families alike. Keep an eye out for recently built single family homes as some of the best new modern architecture tends to appear in this neighborhood time and time again. If you’re looking to buy, as of this February, 2019, each of the properties shown on this article are available. If you’re interested in a tour or would like to know more, please contact us.

Denver Neighborhood Diary: Entry Seven

Dear Denver Diary,

Treat yourself in this month’s luxurious Denver neighborhood, none other than the infamous Cherry Creek. This district is a major hub along the 40 mile Cherry Creek Trail. You can find this affluent neighborhood surrounded by Colorado Boulevard, University, 6th Avenue and Cherry Creek Drive. Self care can be taken to a whole new level when you choose to spend some time in this area. From retail therapy to fine dining, Cherry Creek is the neighborhood that keeps on giving until your pocketbook simply no longer allows.

Whoever would’ve thought Cherry Creek was a true rags to riches story? Choke cherries by the creek inspired the origins of the name “Cherry Creek” after discovered by the Arapaho Indians. From trash to treasure, in 1949 Denver architect and developer, Temple Hoyne Buell, built the original Cherry Creek Shopping Center on a former dump. Hard to believe the lavish Cherry Creek Mall, redeveloped and completed in 1990, that we both know and see today was nothing more than a wasteland back in the past.

Residentially speaking, Cherry Creek is home to anyone from young professionals to retirees. With a laid back, yet entertaining vibe this neighborhood attracts a very diverse demographic of homebuyers. Right in the midst of the Cherry Creek hustle and bustle, house hunters can find a supply of luxurious attached dwellings whether it be townhomes, condominiums, or a high-rise residential tower. Aside from that, there is a lower supply and higher demand of substantial, single-family homes located amongst some elegant subdivisions within the area.

Does 16 blocks of shopping appeal to your lifestyle? If the answer is yes, then you may want to reside within walking distance of the 16-block Cherry Creek North shopping district. The Cherry Creek Mall is the mecca of this neighborhood. Get ready to splurge, because Cherry Creek offers some of the finest, high-end, international fashion stops in Colorado. When you’re finally ready to take a break from all that shopping, enjoy some gourmet bites at an elegant eatery or have a drink at one of the fancy cocktail lounges. Among other activities, residents can enjoy some quaint, coffee cafes and small, contemporary art galleries. Keep it healthy by attending weekends at the Cherry Creek Farmers Market or an exploration of the cherry creek trail via bike, scooter, or foot!

Denver Neighborhood Diary: Entry Six

Dear Denver Diary,

We are thrilled to take you on a journey to Sloan Lake. Sloan Lake has even been referred to as the “gem of northwest Denver.” The origins of Sloan Lake date all the way back to 1861. Offering both exceptional city and mountain views, Sloan Lake is an attractive area for buying and selling real estate now and into the future. You can find this neighborhood located between 17th Avenue, 29th Avenue, Sheridan Boulevard and Federal Boulevard. Sloan Lake is home to Denver’s largest body of water and second largest park!

With efforts to irrigate his farm, Thomas M. Sloan unleashed a water aquifer while attempting to dig a well that ended up spreading over a daunting 200 acres. This simple farming incident gave birth to the miraculous gift, what we now know as Sloan Lake. Over time, this lake became home to many attractions and famous landmarks such as Manhattan Beach Amusement Park, Grand View Hotel, and Lakeshore Drive-in. Whether or not Sloan Lake came about purposefully, Denverites are still reaping the benefits of its beauty to this day.

Real Estate

When it comes to the real estate, Sloan lake is the ultimate melting pot. Today homebuyers have the pleasure of choosing from a diverse selection of styles including:  classic, vintage, mid century modern, luxury, contemporary, ranch style, and bungalow. With the breathtaking views from Sloan Lake it was only a matter of time for new development to sweep through. Recently, a lot of the new development seems to be a plethora of luxury condos that popping up left and right in neighborhood.

Food, Beverage, Entertainment

This neighborhood is perfect for families that are looking for a community that caters to an active lifestyle. Sloan Lake offers an abundance of things to do and places to be. During summer, this body of water becomes boater friendly allowing for water sports. Aside from that, residents can enjoy fishing, kayaking, paddle boarding, picnics, or a nice stroll around the three mile path surrounding the lake. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from along the water’s border such as:  Rupert’s at the Edge (American classics & cocktails for breakfast and lunch), Tap & Burger Sloan’s Lake (local beer, gourmet burgers & modern bar food), GB Fish and Chips (old pub feel featuring British grub), and Shisho Sushi & Oyster Bar (relaxing space serving oysters and both classic & specialty sushi rolls).

Slow Winter Market: Fact or Fiction?

Let’s just start by saying we’ve had more deals than snowfall this month! We are more than grateful to announce that there has been a blizzard of business going on at Walters & Company this November.

There are many valid reasons to buy real estate during winter. Sellers tend to be much more eager to sell during this time. While sellers are typically more motivated to sell, buyers also have the convenience of dealing with less competition. And if supply exceeds demand, well this results in lower prices of course.

Ultimate client satisfaction is agency’s top priority. When we deliver a positive experience for clients buying or selling it always results in referral generation. Referrals are the key to keeping business going throughout the winter months.

If you or anyone you know may be interested in joining our team and developing a referral based business for themselves please contact LIZZ WALTERS at (303)907-1984!

Denver Neighborhood Diary: Entry Five

November 15th, 2018

Dear Denver Diary,

Welcome to RiNo, one of Denver’s most up and coming neighborhoods. The River North Arts District, abbreviated RiNo, is located north of Downtown Denver along the Platte River. Since 2007, RiNo has undergone a huge transformation. From a strictly industrial environment into a contemporary modern dwelling, Denver Natives have really got to witness the evolution of this neighborhood.

RiNo is a heaven for art-enthusiasts. Local artists have been one of the biggest factors in the transformation of this neighborhood. As a catalyst for safety, cleanliness, creativity and conversation Denver’s Urban Art Festival, Crush Walls, commissioned the work in RiNo to bring the art out of the galleries and into the streets. The graffiti covered alleyways are one of the main attractions for tourists. There really is something interesting to see around every corner in RiNo; it’s the perfect place to show off Denver to friends and family at no cost. For a full directory of these murals, the artists, and their story check out

Real estate

The future is now when it comes to the modern real estate and architecture in RiNo. This neighborhood offers a compelling combination of industrial and luxury living. Aspiring residents can choose from an array of converted warehouses, updated lofts, and contemporary apartment complexes. The architectural design theme typically seems to  involve exposed bricks & pipes, concrete washed floors, rooftops, and bolder, more vibrant colors. In addition, RiNo also has some endearing pockets of super classic neighborhoods, featuring some smaller, updated bungalows with a charming quintessential feel. Don’t drive, WALK everywhere when you live in this neighborhood; the Highlands are a short walk and Downtown Denver is effortlessly accessible.

Food, Beverage, Entertainment

Food and drinks with a view sums up the norm dining experience in RiNo. Larimer Street is the main hub in this neighborhood. Indulge in some delicious sushi the moment you sit down at Sushirama as your options roll around the conveyor belt. This area is packed with breweries such as Our Mutual Friend, Ratio and Epic. And if you’re not into craft beer, an urban winery, Infinite Monkey Theorem, “operated by one mad scientist working out of a back alley in the RiNo Arts District.” Retreat to the Ironton Distillery for an urban oasis where you can get a taste of the Colorado Spirit distilled into one of their custom cocktails

One Prosperous Rocktober

No better way to experience October than ROCKTOBER in the Mile High City. All thanks to SPECTACULAR CLIENTS & AMBITIOUS AGENTS the peak season has yet to come to an end for us! Stay tuned, because we are beyond confident we will keep this momentum going. With a grand total of 11 deals, that is a wrap for this month.

The real estate industry is commonly known for its rollercoaster business model. However, there is a secret loophole to avoiding these extreme highs and lows. The key to consistency (anytime of year) is to establish a REFERRAL BASED BUSINESS. We are hearing a lot of talk lately about how the market is beginning to shift. From our perspective, we are beginning to see a balance and a balanced market is more ideal for all!

If you or anyone you know may be interested in joining our team and developing a referral based business for themselves please contact LIZZ WALTERS at (303)907-1984!
